The city prepares for a night of music, celebration, and participation
It’s official: Marco Mengoni will headline Olbia’s New Year’s Eve 2025-2026.
The winner of two editions of the Sanremo Music Festival and Italy’s representative at Eurovision will take to the stage for a free concert in the square on the night of December 31, 2025, to welcome the new year together.
The event, promoted by the Municipality of Olbia in collaboration with the Region of Sardinia, is confirmed as one of the most anticipated events of the holidays, thrusting the Gallura city into the center of the Italian music scene.
A great event to close out the year with music
Recently completing a record-breaking tour with over half a million spectators in Italian stadiums and a tour of European arenas, Mengoni will bring an unmissable show to Olbia.
On stage, he will perform his most beloved songs—from “L’essenziale” to “Due vite”—in a live show that promises energy, emotion, and exceptional stage production, featuring lights, projections, and choreography.
“We are proud to host an artist of Marco Mengoni’s caliber,” said Mayor Settimo Nizzi. “Our city will offer an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors, combining music, beauty, and participation.”
A New Year’s Eve for All: Free and Accessible
The concert will be free and open to the public, beginning late on December 31st with a collective toast at midnight.
Technical preparations for safety, traffic, and logistics are already underway, coordinated by the City Council, Law Enforcement, and the Port Authority, to ensure an engaging and safe event for everyone.
“This concert,” explained Tourism Councilor Marco Balata, “is the result of constant work to promote Olbia as a tourist destination even during the off-season. We expect a large attendance and positive impact on the local economy.”
Music, Tourism, and the Local Area
Marco Mengoni’s arrival in Olbia is not just a musical event, but also a way to enhance the local area.
The influx of thousands of visitors expected from all over Sardinia and the rest of Italy will bring tangible benefits to hotels, restaurants, and businesses, consolidating the Municipality’s successful strategy of deseasonalizing tourism.
The central square will be transformed into a large open-air stage, where music, lights, and community participation will create a memorable New Year’s Eve, a symbol of Olbia’s energy and hospitality.
